Happy Amazon Prime Day! I don’t want to get technical, but it’s Prime Days.
I decided to put together a post of what I found interesting on Prime Day. It’s geared more towards the kids. I was hoping for a couple of specific 65″ or 75″ televisions to be on sale, but I haven’t seen anything yet.
I tried typing this really quick, so things won’t sell out. Please excuse the lack of proofreading/editing. (If you clicked from the image on the home page, no my old dog isn’t on Amazon. I just didn’t have a relevant/quick image to post.)
I’ll try to add more stuff throughout the day.
I’ve included the percent off in the listings below. Sometimes those aren’t the Prime Day savings, but how much it is off the retail price. Nonetheless, they can be a decent guide sometimes.
Before we get started here are a couple of tips.
- Use the Amazon Prime Card. It will save you 6% today.
- Don’t use gift certificates. If you have the Prime card above, get the extra percentage off today and save the gift cards for another day.
- Take advantage of the 50% Subscribe and Save tip (see below for more information)
Nintendo Switch
I saw a few things that the kids wanted for the Nintendo Switch so this is a special section dedicated to that:
- Super Mario Odyssey for Nintendo Switch (50% off)
Normally this is $60 and it’s rarely on sale. Getting it for $30 is a steal. My kids have wanted it for a while. I told them about the deal today and they are going to split it.
I’m not crazy about them spending on money on video games. However, they are negotiating for a bigger allowance, so this gives them something to use it on.
- Travel Docking Station for the Nintendo Switch (44% off)
We have two main TVs in the house. We moved the Switch to the one in the basement, but sometimes the kids will want some friends by and the other TV is a better fit.
This gadget will allow them to play in either room. We can also bring it on the road – though usually we don’t want to bring video games with us when we travel.
I will pay for this one, because it works with Samsung phones (via their DeX platform) to turn them into a computer.
- Switch Grip Handle Bracket Support Holder (20% off)
I thought these pieces of plastic to hold the Switch controllers together were more expensive. For $8, it’s a good deal. My kids were happy to pay $4 each of their own money for it.
- Mario + Rabbids Sparks of Hope (67% off)
This game isn’t a hot seller like many Mario games. However, at $20 it is one of the cheaper games out there. I’ll pick this up and stash it away until Christmas.
Pokemon Stuff
- Mega Construx Pikachu (over 25+% off)
My kids have loved everything Pokemon for a long time. Now they are starting to move onto the Marvel movies. However, my youngest still loves Legos, and has built so many other Pokemon. This is perhaps the most iconic and biggest build available.
- Pokémon, “Kanto Favorites” Twin Bed in a Bag Set (46% off)
I just checked with the kids and they are going to pass on this. The Kanto region isn’t their favorite any more and they like the bed in the bags they have.
Lego Minecraft and Marvel
Lego Minecraft and/or Marvel is always a win for my kids.
This went out of stock before I could buy it, but I’ll keep an eye to see if it comes back.
At least I was able to get this one.
It looks like this is rarely on sale, so this is a big deal. However, it’s still expensive. How expensive? Well, I’ll let you click to find out yourself.
Other Stuff
- Echo Show 8 – 2nd Gen, 2021 release (54% off)
I always have to include an Amazon device in the mix and this is a good one to add. We have two Echo Show 5s and they are nice alarm clock replacements.
I’m thinking about this Echo Show 8 for the kitchen, but at this point we might have too many Echo devices. If I think we have too many Echo devices, my wife certainly feels that way. I better avoid this.
- 50% Any Subscribe and Save Item
Each account gets one 50% off hundreds/thousands of Subscribe and Save items. Some easy choices are dog food, diapers, razors, protein powders – anything that will cost $50-60 and give you a good $30 off.
If you don’t need any of these things, maybe stock up on paper towels or toilet paper.
