Things I’m Thankful For This Thanksgiving

November 23, 2007 by Lazy Man 2 Comments

I was going to take the day off, but I read this article from Brip Blap and got inspired to take some time while watching football.

Here are some things I’m thankful for:

  • Bill Belichick, Scott Pioli, Tom Brady, Randy Moss, and the 2008 San Francisco draft pick.
  • The new Valdiguie Charles Shaw wine at Trader Joe’s. In my opinion it would be the best value in red wine at $15 a bottle, yet it’s only $1.99. I like fruity wines and it’s just a little bit like a glass of Sangria without the added fruit.
  • My wife, though she’ll probably never read this
  • Jonathan Papelbon, Jacoby Ellsbury, David Ortiz, Kevin Youkilis, Josh Beckett, and 3 more years of Mike Lowell
  • Everyone reading this article, everyone who links to me and includes me in their blogroll, and everyone who decides to subscribe to my RSS feed.
  • My wife’s extremely secure government job and the benefits that come with it.
  • Everyone who reads Lazy Man and Health and especially those who subscribe to the RSS feed.
  • The combination of Promethazine/Codeine syrup that is currently allowing my wife a few hours of escape from a coughing nightmare.
  • The United States of America for allowing me to enjoy all the above.
  • And though it’s not quite appropriate, here are a couple of things I’m not thankful for:

  • Boston Market only allowing “special menu” for Thanksgiving that’s identical to the Fall Family Feast that they advertise on the website, but $8 more.
  • Boston Market’s refusal to take the coupons on their website for the aforementioned “special.”

Glad I inspired you to post, although I’m certainly not thankful for a few of the, ahem, sports-related items you mention :)

As one of the RSS subscribers, I thought I should click through and comment on this post. I too am thankful for Tom Brady…He looks fantastic in his little football pants!
