Use Your Citi Card for $5 Concert Tickets to Blink 182, Nickelback, Depeche Mode

July 28, 2009 by Lazy Man 4 Comments

Since my near deadly accident last Friday , I’ve had Nickelback’s “What
if Today was Your Last Day” stuck in my head. Maybe it’s unrelated to that incident and more related to the fact that it’s played approximately 5 times an hour on any Top 40 radio station. Either way, even my trick of singing the 60’s Batman (the one with Adam West) theme song, isn’t getting it out. It might be time to pull out the heavy guns of the Banana Splits theme song.

Getting back to Nickelback, someone mentioned to me that if you a Citi Cardmember, you can get Nickelback tickets for $5. I did a little research and you can get tickets to the newly reformed Blink 182 for that price as well. I’ve been thinking about seeing Blink 182 with Weezer later this summer. I haven’t had a chance to see if that’s a $5 show, but I will look soon. It would be well worth it to see Weezer, who I’ve mentioned before – and Blink 182 would be gravy (or All The Small Things). I’m not a big fan of Depeche Mode, but for those who find them interesting it’s something to look into as I’ve heard they are a $5 show as well.

It seems the tickets are your typical lawn seats… i.e. seats that are far away from the action. However, I find that those are often the most entertaining
due to the interaction with the crowd. It also seems like Citi is partnering with LiveNation – now the concert angle makes sense. I couldn’t see Citi putting these shows on themselves.

You’ll have to rush because the deal seems to have already started, and may end at the end of August.

You can get a special access code from here – you’ll need to have a credit or debit card with Citi… or maybe you can sign up for one on the spot.
