Last night I caught up with SVB of The Digerati Life and a few other people for dinner and a game of Settlers of Catan. There I took the opportunity to tell her, as one of my closest friends, the big news. The wife and I are expecting a little bundle of tax deduction later this year.
We are beginning the process of learning all the new things that new parents need to learn. Financially, we’ve got a lot to figure out as well. I’m looking forward to documenting the financial aspects of this journey.
Tip: Make sure the kid is done pooping before changing the diaper.
Also, become familiar with the meaning of the word “blowout” and be prepared to deal with them.
Really, though, congrats. It’s not all about poop, sleepness nights, and tantrums. (That’s a pretty big chunk of it, though).
Congrats buddy, that’s great news! Thanks also for an excellent round up of blog posts which I’ve just been working my way through.
As I mentioned, CONGRATS! Now it’s up to people to wonder about this announcement and the day it was made. But I believe you. :)
Congratulations!
If anyone tries to hand you a baby-related magazine, bat it to the ground!
Baby-magazines aren’t good? Perhaps there are some blogs I should be looking at?
So much for “Lazy Man and Money”. You will soon become “Tired Man and No Money”. Congrats to you!!!
Congrats! Great news, although your retirement at 40 model may be a little skewed now.
True, though it was put into the plan to some degree. My wife will still get military pension and I’ll presumably have my business income. I know people who have “retired” with 3 kids at around 30. It largely depends on your definition of retirement: What’s Your Definition of Retirement?
Congrats to both of you! Scott and I are excited for you. Wishing your wife a happy, healthy, and easy pregnancy!
Congrats to both of you!
