Need Money Epic Fail

April 23, 2009 by Lazy Man 12 Comments

I love Fail Blog When I discovered it, I lost about 4 straight hours of my life (so click through after you read this post). I just find the pictures hilarious. Earlier this week I was at Taco Bell. The receipt struck me as borderline funny enough to submit to Fail Blog. Rather than risk it getting rejected there, I’d use this venue for it.

Need Money Epic Fail

The first words are “need money” and the next words are pretty much “enter our contest.” If you really need money, entering Taco Bell’s national contest isn’t the answer. That’s what I call “would be nice” money, not need money. I’m sure the odds of winnings are posted somewhere, but I couldn’t find them. I can’t imagine they give out a lot of $1000 prizes even though they could. It’s possible they give out one a week, which would make your odds of getting the money you need pretty low.

P.S. How frugal was that lunch, right? Taco Bell’s slogan is right, “Why Pay More?”

P.P.S. I would have highlighted the “Need Money” in the picture, but after looking how draw a box or circle in Gimp my head exploded. If any knows of an easy way to do that please let me know in the comments. I suspect the best answer is going to be… don’t use Gimp.

I actually find it funny that you bought “BCH2BF”, which is probably some sort of martian :-)

I thought that this was the reason why you would post this receipt on the site in the first place..

Oh no, BCH2BF’s are fantastic. Be sure to ask for them by name when you go to Taco Bell

I have a similar problem with GIMP some days ago. I ended up using MsPaint hehe. Although I think you can use the Rectangle Select Tool for boxes or the Ellipse Select tool for circles. Then fill it with the Bucket tool. Then, you can do the same procedure to center of the box or the circle. Woow, this is crazy, there should be a better way.

Yep, I saw that way… exploded head. Looks like MS Paint may be the answer.

I believe there is a “stroke selection” option somewhere that will effectively draw a box, or of course you can fill it as stated above.

But for this? Yeah. Just use Paint.

No need to pull out the jackhammer to drill a hole in the bottom of a plastic cup, right?

Well, I use Gimp for cropping and such, so I already have it open.

So I already have the jackhammer in hand :-).

Hmm. Yeah, you’d think there would be an easier way to do this in Gimp. Gimp is my default image editor on my Mac.

Did Taco Bell completely kill the volcano taco, or has it just disappeared from my area? I had trouble eating 3 at once (not literally at once time, but in quick succession). Two wasn’t a problem, but the third would unleash the fire demons.

Frankly, I use Paint for cropping as well. Don’t get me wrong, I am a huge fan of Gimp; I just equate it to a jackhammer.

Paint stays on my QuickLaunch bar for dropping screenshots (since Windows isn’t smart enough to handle that for me), quick crop jobs, and minor edits like the receipt.

Gimp is for transparency, layers, and shading. To me. :)

I do think there is a ‘stroke selection’, though. You can pick a brush and size and color and it’ll draw along your selection. But I’ve only stroked paths thus far, so I’m not positive where it is… mebbe on a right-click…

Here is an excellent post on how to highlight a portion of an image using GIMP.

Hum, I don’t know what to tell you about Gimp; I usually use either photoshop or paint.net to edit any pictures that need editing.

And that meal is rather cheap; if I liked Mexican food more, I’d be sure to eat there.

Fail Blog is one of my regular reads. I’m a huge fan of the LOL-family of blogs (I Has a Hot Dog, I Can Haz Cheezburger, Pundit Kitchen, ROFLrazzi, etc.) and spend a good chunk of either my morning or my lunch break laughing myself silly.

Why can I never see your pictures? I can’t see this one to laugh at, and I could never see the pics of the pup either! Sad times for me…….
