Military Folks – Don’t Forget Your Thrift Savings Plan

November 7, 2006 by Lazy Man Leave a Comment

I’ve been writing for nearly six months now, but I’m afraid I haven’t been taking care of the home front. My fiancee has been in the military for close to 8 years now and hasn’t really taken full advantage of the Thrift Savings Plan (TSP). For those not familiar with a TSP, it’s the military equivalent of the 401k plan. This weekend, I hope to sit down and explore all the tax advantages.
I’d like to thank all those in the military that help preserve the lifestyle that we enjoy and often take for granted in the US. I hope that while you are busy taking care of us civilians in the present, you aren’t ignoring your own future.
