Buy Candy On Sale

November 2, 2007 by Lazy Man 8 Comments

Halloween is over, how much extra candy did you have left over? If your answer is none, then there’s good news. Stores across the nation will be putting their leftover candy on sale. They need to clear the aisles for the end of the year holiday sales. Many of the stores near you may have already replaced the orange and black with the red and green.

Now that you know there’s a sale, you need to have a plan. Getting the best pricing is a difficult challenge. Do you buy right after Halloween and get the best candy at a 30% discount. Or do you wait a week and risk getting “picked over” candy at even greater 75-90% off? I think my ideal solution would be to apply some kind of dollar cost averaging. I would pick up some of my favorite candy as early as today, even if it’s not at the biggest discount. Then I’d go out next week and see what else is left to supplement my candy “stash.”

I plan on firing up the my FoodSaver, so that we have candy for quite a few months. I’m personally looking forward to mixing Butterfinger, Kit Kat, and Reese Peanut Butter Cup together as an ice cream topper. Yum!

I’m waiting a week. there are plenty of sotres around my apartment tryng to dump their candy. I usually can find the ones I want. 80% is a good discount for candy.

I usually just get the Kit Kat bars and the Target store in this area tends to go to a 75% discount on the second week.

Don’t buy candies, it will cost you in a long run in health expenses. LOL.. Seriously, personally, I use frozen berries as my candies… I know it’s not for everyone, but some of you might try.. I am eating them right now… ummmm.. yammy..

Great idea to go get candy. Not only will it make good ice cream toppers but you can start preparing for Christmas early and get some great stocking stuffers for cheap too.

This is always a good thing to do. Wait until after the holiday and stock up. I get all my Christmas stuff that way.

We hit up target last weekend and found that all halloween packaged candy was 75% off or more. We bought 5 tubs of the name brand stuff that would have normally cost us $50 but we got them for about $10…woohoo! Halloween 2008, here we come!
