The Best Financial Independence, Retire Early Articles of the Week (#7)

December 26, 2016 by Lazy Man 2 Comments

Don’t adjust your eyes. Things look very different at Lazy Man and Money today. For the first time in around 8 years or so, I’ve got a new design. It’s not finalized, but I thought it was good enough to roll out.

Truth be told, I didn’t like how the advertising was slowing down the page loading. I also felt like I should have a real home page rather than just jump everyone to the latest article. I want to new readers to have a place to start and highlight some of my best articles.

While I appreciate any and all feedback (drop me a line here or simply leave a comment), it might be best to refrain until after the holidays as I work with my designer to get everything working well. I might even have a contest where the top suggestion wins a prize.

Now let’s get to the best Financial Independence Retire Early (FIRE) articles:

Financial Independence

  • Is an Interest-Free Loan Bad?

I’ve changed the title a little bit to make it a little more interesting. It might seem like an interest-free loan couldn’t be a bad thing. Tawcan explains how it could go all wrong.

  • What’s Your Purpose After Wealth Accumulation?

This is something I’ve been thinking more and more about. I usually flitter from one interest to another. For example, one of my interests of late is teaching computer science concepts to pre-school kids. It sounds nuts, but it really isn’t.

I’m going to just stick with those two for now. I want to get back to fixing this design and making it all it can be. I still have some Christmas shopping to do too.

What is the connection between the interest free loan article and financial independence and/or retiring early? Not that it wasn’t an interesting article.

Yeah, that’s a good point. I should have written the best articles from my favorite FIRE bloggers. It was a pretty lean week for me reading articles… and I think for many bloggers writing them. I think many people are tying up loose ends for the end of the year.

Also, I was a little distracted with all the changes to site (and all the things that were initially broken).
