Alternative Income Streams – June 2008

June 9, 2008 by Lazy Man 3 Comments

Due to my recent vacation, I was unable to compile numbers of my alternative from May until today. So while I typically like to get this out on the first or second day of the month, here we are in the 9th day.

Once again, my alternative income continues it’s roller coaster ride. It almost seems to want to stay in a narrow range from $1500 to $2000. This month it was up slightly to $1,543.10. As always, this is after taxes and expenses.

It’s important to mention the expenses. This month, I’ve actually spent a little money to invest in my websites. It really isn’t a lot of money, but I’m giving advertising a shot. The specifics are related to general blogging and I don’t want to bore you with those details.

How did I do it this month? Like last month, my readers made at least $1250 by starting accounts at Revolution Money Exchange. They gave me $10 every time someone took advantage of their free $25 offer – a lot of small $10 deposits add up quickly. I used my wife’s account this month as they only allow one person to refer so much. If you are interested in getting that $25 free dollars, you have to be quicker, I think the promotion is over now.

With that promotion over, next month may be more difficult. However, I’ve got a feeling I might have something else to announce by then.

Towards the end of last month, I read a few interesting articles that I think I can use to supplement my alternative income. Once again it’s more websites. I’m going to have to invest a little money for a domain name, but everything else should be just time on my end. My hope is that it isn’t on-going time and that I can simply develop it once and leave it alone. My hope with these websites is that they bring in $300 a year with no work. Yes, $25 a month doesn’t seem like a lot, but a couple of them add up to pay the cable bill.

$1543 in After-Tax alternative income is nothing to sneeze at.
Thanks for sharing one of your income sources with your reader!

Thats a pretty respectable amount of alternative income, I’m pushing $50 a month which isn’t all that much so you’re doing quite well and I’m obviously not doing something right.
