Weekend Round-up: Jekyll and Hyde Edition - Part 2: Jekyll

Yesterday, I mentioned how the Red Sox season was flailing out of control - not unlike Mr. Hyde. Today, it's time for the opposite, Dr. Jekyll.

I've mentioned more than a few times that I'm a Patriots fan, despite all the shenanigans over the last couple of weeks. However, unlike the Red Sox, the Patriots are playing tremendous football.

How tremendous? Last week with the microscope on them, they did exactly what I said they'd do. They used the CameraGate experience as a rally point - the one ingredient the hugely talented team was missing. They quickly jumped out to a 24-0 half-time lead against what was considered to be one of the best teams in football, the San Deigo Chargers. In the post-game conference, the Chargers star LaDainian Tomlinson, was choking back tears. The Slate said, "Quite simply, no NFL team in recent memory has played a game as well from start to finish as New England did Sunday night." and "It's why, absent catastrophic injury, New England can win every football game it plays this season."

It's unheard of for me to be rooting for a team that unbiased national news sources have declared champions in just the second week of the season. It's a happy, happy, time for the Patriots fan in me. On to the links:

I’m loving my Colts too! It is amazing to see two teams that were HORRIBLE 15 years ago are now on the verge of becoming dynasties!

Queston, not on your current entry - for about the past week I have to scroll past all the ads, etc on the sides of your site to get to your entry. Why? More than once I’ve sat staring at a blank waiting for print to pop up. Yes, it’s usually before my coffee kicks in. Thanks.

On the verge of becoming dynasties? The Patriots achieved that years ago.

  4. Tyler Says:

Don’t forget that the Pats are missing arguably their 2 best defensive players right now. It is just SICK to think about the fact that this team is going to get BETTER.

  5. Brip Blap Says:

I think everyone’s getting a little quick to crown the Pats… particularly when you remember the defending champion Chargers from last year (right?), or the 2004 Steelers, and on and on. There’s a lot of football still to be played, and it’s not like the Pats are in the NFC and will cakewalk through the playoffs. Steelers are looking awfully tough, too.

Does look like they’re walking away with the AFC east, though.

    Great links! Thanks.

I just started a new personal finance blog. Even though my entries are geared to women, I’d love to invite you to drop by.

    Keep up the great work.

BTW, like Bellen, I also had to scroll way down to get to your posts…I almost missed your good information!!
