Having been a personal finance blog reader for a while, and just starting a blog, I can speak from both sides. I enjoy reading the weekly roundups as it typically gives light to well done posts. Many times I would have otherwise missed the post. Keep up the good work!

I’m not a blogger and I appreciate the link-fests. I started reading one personal finance blog a few months ago, and from there I found others. I prefer to find new blogs through article recommendations, rather than through blogrolls. Also, what my favorite bloggers like is usually pretty much in line with what I’ll like, so it’s nice to be able to get that sort of specialized list. Thanks!

That was an excellent point that most people not liking the links are other bloggers. I know I love when Lifehacker gives links from Ask Metafilter, as I don’t follow the site normally. However, when they highlight something, it’s usually pretty good.

Most of the people complaining about linkfests or weekly roundups over at Money, Matter, and More Musings are fellow bloggers. Guess what? I don’t really write my roundups for them. In fact, other bloggers are a tiny part of my total audience.

To be honest, I’ve never really understood when people complain about stuff like this… If you don’t want to read a certain article, then don’t. The fact that it was published doesn’t shouldn’t really annoy you, and it certainly doesn’t hurt you. After all, you can just skip it.
