Three Great Commericals From One Financial Institution

Since I've resigned from my day job, I've found myself watching a fair amount of CNBC. I find that I learn something new almost every hour. However, for the second time this week, I want to focus on the commercials. In particular Lincoln Financial has a brilliant campaign going on. As opposed to this Ebay campaign that tries to glamorize people buying junk that they probably don't need, Lincoln Financial's campaign is designed to make you think about the future. I think these commercials are very well done, even if a couple of them do make me shed some man-tears a couple of times a day. Interestingly two of these YouTube spots differ slightly from the commercial that actually airs on CNBC.

This post deals with: ... and focuses on:

I apologize that the quality of the video (especially the sound on the second one) isn’t better. They were the best I could find and the message still gets through.

Amazing……the marketing group gets a A+ of this one. Funny how in one minute you can be drawned to the commercial.

I loved all of them especially the last one.

Good post Lazy Man. You da man !

Great commericals, but unfortunately these guys are insurance salesmen. They create commercials leading you to believe that they will do planning focused on your goals, but you need to remember these folks are paid to sell. If you work with them, they are going to recommend a life insurance policy, probably whole or universal life, and annuities.

Also, I would recommend not watching too many hours of CNBC. Don’t get caught up in the stock picking world or the beat the market mentality. I use index funds, beat the professional money managers, and spend the free time with my kids (or golf if I can escape for a few hours).

The first and the third one hit me hard. I was worried in the third one about her husband. Fantastic job on these commercials.

Wow, I think these are great. This is the best marketing I’ve seen for financial planning in a long time. Someone deserves a raise!
