I downloaded the “instant boss” which seems like a really good tool for what I’m trying to do. I’ll probably use it like a timer too.

I do a lot of web-development and software development for my consulting business (http://www.mattpaulson.com/) so I definitely know where you’re coming from. It’s REALLY easy to get distracted by people who randomly come over or worse yet, my Nintendo Wii. The way I’ve delt with it was making it a point to work during the parts of the day where I’m naturally most productive (around 8:00 to 11:30 AM) and (around 8:30-11:00 PM), and it seems that I get everything done.

That timer was great except for the ‘extend working time’ function. I just kept hitting that until I realized I was working for 3 hours without a break. Probably the egg timer is better – at least you have to stand up and cross the room to turn it off…
