Welcome to Prosper Week

For the rest of this week, I'm going to focus on peer-to-peer lending via Prosper.com. I think I just heard a groan from most of my readers. Please stick with me, there's lots beyond Prosper.com itself. Why put a week into Prosper.com? Simple because I believe it is the best investment opportunity available to the average person today.

As for a general outline of the week's posts, here's what I have planned:

Friday is going to be the equivalent of the "big reveal" of an extreme makeover show. If you've ever lent on Prosper or even thought about lending on Prosper, you can't miss it.

This post deals with: ... and focuses on:

Prosper

Cool – I’m eager to hear your Friday conclusions. I am a Prosper lender and would agree that I’ve made mistakes early, but have figured out my model and how to make money.

  2. Lazy Man says:

I forgot to mention that if you leave a comment like Steve has, I’ll be tempted to give you a little more information about my Friday post through e-mail. On the topic of e-mail, Steve has the coolest e-mail address I’ve ever seen.

  3. Arthur says:

I would also like to tempt you to give me a little more information about your Friday post through email. I’m a daily feedreader and just wanted you to know that I’m glad you’re doing the Prosper segment. Thanks!

  4. Blaine says:

I just started reading about a month ago, but I’ve already learned a lot. I was thinking about trying Prosper, so I can’t wait to learn more!

I’m so glad someone is doing this. I’ve been lending on Prosper for a little more than a year and I appreciate hearing opinions, comments, critiques and advice from people who, unlike me, know thing 1 about money. I’ve been pretty happy about Prosper, but unsure whether I’m doing the right thing. I’ll enjoy reading your thoughts on it.

P.S. now you’ve made me so curious what Steve’s email address is. You tease!

  9. Joseph Sangl says:

I have no idea what Prosper.com is. Have I been locked up in a closet?!

I will be tracking this blog during this week to see what your thoughts are!

    Thanks!
    Joe

  10. Lazy Man says:

Sorry Joe, perhaps I should have given a bit of intro. I figured that I talk about it enough that people generally have an idea what it is…

    So many jokes about being locked in a closet… must… resist… urge… :-)

  11. Blaine Moore (First Time Home Owner) says:

I’ve lent a few hundred dollars on Prosper, but I have not put any new money into it for a few months. I think that it is a good investment vehicle, but right now I am putting most of my investment money into paying down our mortgage and retirement savings.
