Personal Finance Links (Dogs Rule Edition)

This weekend I watched the movie UP. I think it was one of the worst of the Pixar movies, I've seen... but that's to say that it was still very entertaining and well worth seeing. I cried and laughed (in that order mostly). And for the rest of the weekend, I've been saying things in Dug-speak (the dog). I bet I annoyed my wife with a lot of, "I so very do want to have dinner. I will help make the dinner. It will be a great dinner."

The other dog-related thing I wanted to share is this video below. It's only 40 seconds and I've probably seen it a dozen times. The dog's eye shifts get me every time.

My wife saw that on America's Funniest Home Video's... which shocking still has a television show. Go figure.

And now for the Personal Finance Links of the week:

Why do you think it was one of the worst Pixar movies? I liked the movie, the only thing I did not enjoy was the old lady dying at the beginning. Depressing.

Well, the bar for Pixar movies is very high for me. So even this being the worst one, is still pretty good.

I think I just wanted more Dug… or Dug to be the main character. It took too long to get him into the picture.

I realize the whole thing is not supposed to be realistic, but I thought the explorer Charles should be at least 20 years older than Carl. So if we guess that Carl is 65, than Charles is at least 85. It seemed like it was switched.

I know that’s nitpicky and not really a reason not to like a monvie. I guess I just didn’t feel it was the same.

Oh also from a personal finance perspective… they lacked an emergency fund and that prevented them from realizing their life-long dreams. I guess selling balloons doesn’t pay well either because with two incomes and no kids, you’d think they could get ahead.

  4. Can’t stop laughing at this film. It is really something else. lol
