Personal Finance Links (Dallas Advice, Anyone?) |

This week my wife and I are traveling to Dallas for a wedding. It's my first trip to Texas. We are planning to see the The Sixth Floor Museum as we've heard a lot of great things about it. However, we don't know a great place for good authentic Texan BBQ. Does anyone have suggestions? Also if you know any other good tourist attractions, I'd love to hear them.

Next: Save More Money in Aruba
I don’t know if it’s the “best” bbq in town, but the Fort Worth Stock Yards are a nice Texas place to eat…we had bbq at one of the restaurants when we were there.
I live in the Dallas area and I’ve always been told that Sonny Bryan’s is a good place for BBQ. I’ve never been to it though. There may be one close to Dealey Plaza as well so you could kill two bird with one stone.
Although not in Dallas, you should make a trip out to Arlington to see the new Cowboys Stadium.
The Mustangs at Las Colinas seem to be a nice tourist attraction as well.. not sure why but that’s what I’ve been told.
Sonny Bryans is a must for BBQ, and if you are really hungry try a Meat Tator. :)

Riscky’s .. there’s one at the Stockyards, altho I think Riscky’s is more of a Fort Worth thing in general (there’s a downtown Fort Worth location). Not sure, not from there .. but it’s good stuff when I visit.
Sonny Bryan’s is probably the best known around, but there’s good stuff everywhere.

It looks like Sonny Bryan’s is a clear winner here. Fort Worth looks a little out of our way, but not that far.
I thought about seeing a Cowboy’s game for their
punt killerbig screen, but we are coming back on the Sunday. Plus, I don’t really care that much about a stadium.Though not BBQ, Whataburger has the best fast food burgers anywhere!!! There are none, here in California, and I’m dying for a whataburger!

You will love the 6th floor museum. If you’re in the North Dallas area, check out Randy White’s BBQ. He’s my favorite.
Thanks PT Money… We are looking at the Fort Worth Stock Yards as well. We really only have two days so between that and the 6th floor, we should be all set.
