My New Business (Take 2)

I had mentioned previously that was looking to start a business. I was very vague because I didn't want the business to get successful and get tied back to this blog and lose my anonymity. Looking back, it was pretty foolish for a few reasons. First, it's a big, big world with lots of businesses. Second, my business isn't that unique. It's not like I'll be the only one manufacturing these widgets... I just hope to be better than the competition.

Since I don't feel the need to be overly secretive anymore... drum roll... the idea is... a web-based baseball game. The competition abounds and one small example is What If Sports. My game is going to be different in several ways. How? That's going to be the trade secret.

Why did it take me over 2 months since the last posting to get started? I'll cover that tomorrow...

  1. I was talking w/ a commerical banker yesterday who dealt with mid-grade biz loans between $3-25M. He stated that typically the loans he originated involved 20% down. He also stated that they were 20yr amortized w/ a 5yr balloon payment.

This may serve as a reference point.

  2. [...] those who have read yesterday’s post, I left a little cliff-hanger about why I had done nothing towards my new business venture in 2 [...]

Cool. If you want anyone to help with testing your web applications, I’d be happy to.

Could be cool. I’d be happy to help if you want any beta testing.

  5. Coincidence? My husband has worked in the video gaming industry for 17 years. He’s quit it now to start something else! Result: we are swimming in games :).
