My Financial Week in Review #3

Comment First

Once again, it's time for a quick recap of what I've done in the past week with regard to money.

  • I finally moved forward with funding my 2006 Roth IRA. I had been procrastinating on this front for the last three weeks. It feels good to get in there. Once it's there, I'll have to figure what I'm going to invest in. I'm thinking of looking at EFA, an ETF that focuses on the foreign markets. I'm also considering something in the health care sector. It just seems like a great hedge for a retirement account.
  • The cheaper oil finally worked it's way to my local gas station and it was 10 cents cheaper than just two weeks. I filled up my tank completely noting that oil has jumped from around $50 a barrel to nearly $55 a barrel.
  • I splurged on a Seidio Innodock for my Palm 700P. This gadget can take the audio out of my Treo and pump it through my home stereo. While some people would pay $200+ to get a Bose docking station for their iPod, I believe I get better stereo sound for $40. It's also a nice place to keep my phone when I get home at the end of the day. It also charges my phone the whole time, so I always have a full battery.
