Financial Directory
This directory represents reputable businesses that I trust and have vetted. I believe I have shown significant aptitude to review financial sites - Lazy Man and Money should exemplify that. Inclusion in this directory is not an untrusted opinion like this gamma knife example. This directory only deals with sites financial in nature. As such links should not be considered “spammy or low-quality” as defined by these guidelines presented by Matt Cutts:
“Why is a Linux site linking to a bunch of poker, pills, and gambling sites?” Users often consider links like this spammy or low-quality.
There is some talk about the difference between paid links and a paid directory. As such we’d like to announce that we adhere to these guidelines presented by Matt Cutts:
Q: Hey, as long as we’re talking about directories, can you talk about the role of directories, some of whom charge for a reviewer to evaluate them? A: I’ll try to give a few rules of thumb to think about when looking at a directory. When considering submitting to a directory, I’d ask questions like:
- Does the directory reject urls? If every url passes a review, the directory gets closer to just a list of links or a free-for-all link site.
- What is the quality of urls in the directory? Suppose a site rejects 25% of submissions, but the urls that are accepted/listed are still quite low-quality or spammy. That doesn’t speak well to the quality of the directory.
- If there is a fee, what’s the purpose of the fee? For a high-quality directory, the fee is primarily for the time/effort for someone to do a genuine evaluation of a url or site.
We definitely do reject URLs - many, many URLs. As previously mentioned, we take the take the time to vet the submissions. The effort to we take to do this monthly review, requires us to charge a few dollars for inclusion in this directory.
