MonaVie Scam?
Is MonaVie a Scam?
My wife has been an active member in a nation-wide, young adults group. I am a member as well, but I’m not nearly as active (lack of time, plus my Laziness kicks in). The groups goals are very noble. They aim to help members with public speaking and event planning skills while raising money for charity through local businesses. Recently my wife went to a meeting and was gone longer than usual. I got a little concerned, so I called her to find out how the meeting was going. It turned […] -
Door-To-Door Salesmen: If You’re Selling, I Ain’t Buying
I live in the nexus of salesmen - or so it seems. At least once a week, we get a visitor looking sell something. Two young ladies knocked on my door the other night. When I answered, they introduced themselves as Beth and Jenn. They had me guess why there at my door. I guessed that they were selling magazines - 92% of the time it’s magazines. Jenn, who did 95% of the talking, informed that it was not magazines, but “periodicals.”
One thing I’ve from these solicitors is that they are brilliant. Whatever […] -
The Amazon that Stole Christmas
For those who celebrate Christmas, this is a special time of year. It’s been a slightly disappointing Christmas for me. I ordered a few of my wife’s gifts from Amazon.com. Despite having the order in by December 12th, Amazon had a mix-up and didn’t send the gifts on time. One of the items that I ordered takes 3-4 weeks to ship, so Amazon decided it would wait until that was ready. The morning of December 22, I started to get nervous about them not showing up in time. When I logged in, I found […]

Nintendo Wii Now Has An Options Market
I couldn’t believe this story today. Jim Goldman of CNBC is reporting that an options market for the Nintendo Wii has sprung up from nowhere. Jim says:
A source at Best Buy tells me those tickets — think of them as “warrants” — can command prices from $300 to $1,000, according to what he’s witnessed himself. The ticket, the warrant, is usually only good for the first few hours the store is open, so it becomes an option with an expiration date.
Often times, people will take the Wii they’ve purchased and put it on Ebay in hopes of making […] -
Rent a Pet: Only for the Wealthy
It looks like another company has stolen one of my ideas. It one of those ideas that you often just mention off-handedly, not seriously. However, now you can rent a pet from FlexPetz . I never really thought the rent-a-pet business would see light of day. I assumed there would be just too many background checks to get it off the ground. And let’s be honest, the allegations surrounding Michael Vick isn’t going to help the rent-a-pet “industry.”
I’d like to do the trial pet thing. I’m not sure how much maintanence a dog is. […]
