Afternoon Links: The Good Life on a Budget Edition |
2 Comments |
One of the reasons I started this afternoon links was to introduce readers to blogs and articles that I like. When I was just starting out a few blogs did a similar thing for me and it really helped me stick with writing when the stats weren’t there. One of these sites, I found from a comment left on my health/fitness blog. The site I want to highlight today is The Good Life on a Budget. Here are some reasons why:
- She seems to think the way I do. From the very first post she mentions maximizing her money.
- She has fantastic cheap date ideas. I particular like Italian subs at a drive in, but going to Pergatory looks like fun too.
- She mentions an intense hatred for the Yankees
- Lastly, and most important in my opinion JVW makes herself very open. There are many pictures of herself and her husband giving the blog a human element that I haven’t seen from any other personal finance blog - including my own. The wedding picture reminded me a lot my own wedding which took place in Newport, Rhode Island. Of course, I wasn’t that surprised to find that one of her favorite drinks is coffee milk. Being from Boston and having spent lots of time in Rhode Island, I feel closer to home when I read The Good Life on a Budget.

Thank you for your kind words and for featuring me on your blog! Nothing like good old fashioned Yankee-hating to bring people together.
