Auto-enrollment for 401(k) Thought.

Comment First

So I just saw that the Department of Labor approved auto-enrollment for 401(k) plans. I hadn't been following this very closely, but it seems that when you start a new a company can enroll you in their 401(k) automatically. I think it will be helpful for many people, but it also seems like the government is assuming too much control.

It seems very odd that they'll approve this legislation, but not allow us to control how our Social Security money is invested. I haven't really said much about the government, but at least give us the ability to control our own destiny.
